ELVERSON WALKING CLUB schedule





BRANDYWINE TRAIL SERIES:   We have two more hikes remaining that will take us to Brandywine Creek State Park in Delaware.  Both will be four and a half miles..  Because of summer heat and trails surrounded by high uncut grass, we will resume hiking the BW in the later part of February or March….       Turnouts were surprisingly high for this series and those attending have enjoyed them….


We will be having some Sunday Hikes on GILBRALTER HILL

Sunday, May 6…..    Hiking on the SPROGEL”S RUN TRAIL, located north of Pottstown just east of route 100…    This two mile trail goes from PROUT FARM PARK to SESSULL PARK and directly in the middle it passes through the ALTHOUSE ARBOTETUM…..      The Strollers recently hiked in the Arboretum and then east to Sessull Park, our hike will begin at Prout Farm Park and go one mile to the Arboretum where we will do several of their trails before returning to Prout Farm….

            EWC will meet at 1:30 PM at Prout Farm, which is reached by traveling north on route 100 from Pottstown to the traffic lights at MOYER ROAD and turning right/east on Moyer for a very short distance to the entrance into the parking area….

Sunday, May 20….      This afternoon EWC will meet at 1:30 PM at the crossroads in Plowville, along route 10 north of Morgantown and south of exit #7, ( S.W. corner at the buses! )    We will drive to 

    S.G.L. #52 parking on Chestnut Hill Road, just to the west side of bridge over I-176….    GPS: 1730 Chestnut Hill RoadMohnton, PA The walking will be a gentle stroll along a service road for an OUT-AND-BACK two to three mile walk…..    We will take a side road close to the parking area that leads down to new pipeline construction…    Pets Welcome today as we look for early blooming flowers….
